Microsoft announced on Thursday some feature updates to its Bing Mobile service.

Mall Maps and Map Search have both been added to Bing for Mobile Browse. Mall Maps has been available on the web desktop version of Bing for over six months and allows Bing users to discover stores inside Mall spaces on Bing Maps. Microsoft’s collection of over 400 shopping malls is now available from the Bing Mobile m.bing.com site.

Microsoft has also included Map Search in its latest update. Bing Maps mobile now has a split view for when users search within Maps. Bing Maps users can pan around the map and hit refresh in their browser to get results listed on the position of the map. “The map highlights the business locations as you scroll through the list making it easy to see where all the options are located,” explained Bing Maps program manager Roberto Bojorquez Alfaro in a blog post on Thursday.

Mall Maps are available immediately for mobile devices that support HTML5, including Android, iPhone and RIM devices. Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7.5 includes Mall Maps directly within the Bing maps interface.

Why are the mobile maps and the desktops maps of the UK still not in the new Bing Maps style, but on Windows Phone they are!

    In Google’s post:
“They want to make it harder for manufacturers to sell Android devices. Instead
of competing by building new features or devices, they are fighting
    through litigation.”
    Should be:
“They are competing by building new features and through litigation.”
Tell me Microsoft isn’t building new features with Mango, nor Apple with iOS5.

They both have higher customer satistfaction vs Android according to recent studies.

Reny said it perfectly, Bing Maps mobile needs public transportation directions, now just like the desktop version.
