Microsoft revealed on Wednesday that Gears of War 3 has surpassed one million worlwide pre-orders.

Gears of War 3 is now the fastest pre-ordered Xbox exclusive title to reach the milestone in the history of the Xbox 360. Microsoft also revealed some interesting Gears of War 3 beta stats on Wednesday at Major Nelson’s blog:

• 1.29 million players played more than 11 million multiplayer matches
• 45 different countries participated in the beta
• 249 years worth of matches played
• More than 11 million matches completed
• More than 927 million kills recorded
• More than 131 million executions performed
• More than 23 million deaths by chainsaw
• Nearly 23 BILLION bullets fired
• 4.9 billion ribbons and 291M medals earned
• 435K people earned the Beta exclusive Thrashball Cole skin to use in the retail game when it launches in September
• 234K people earned the Beta exclusive Gold Retro Lancer to use in the retail game when it launches in September

Gears of War 3 will be made available on September 20 as three editions. The software giant revealed the editions on Monday along with a new developer video documentary entitled “Wicked Workshop”. Microsoft is offering an exclusive figurine to those who pre-order the Gears of War 3 Epic Edition. Microsoft’s follow-up to the immensely popular Gears of War 1 and 2 titles is set around 18 months after the previous events of Gears of War 2. The shooter was originally scheduled to launch in April but was pushed back to September.
