WhatsApp messenger for Windows Phone will be available shortly so we’ve taken a quick hands on the hottest cross platform messaging app.
The WhatsApp team have hinted for several weeks that a Windows Phone version of WhatsApp would be made available soon. The company is currently privately beta testing an initial version of WhatsApp for Windows Phone and the XAP file for the application leaked to the Internet on Monday. We managed to grab a copy thanks to wpsauce.com and side-loaded it onto a Windows Phone 7.5 “Mango” device to play around. All of the features of WhatsApp are available as you’d expect, including group messaging and location and picture sharing. WhatsApp is a widely used messaging application that allows you to share messages, photos and location information over your data connection with no hidden charges. The application is also available on iPhone, Android, Nokia and BlackBerry devices.
