Microsoft issues service alert for Xbox LIVE Marketplace outage

Microsoft issued an Xbox LIVE Marketplace service alert on Wednesday.

The software giant said it was investigating issues across its Marketplace that affects the following services:

  • Browsing Indie Games from the Xbox 360 console or Xbox.com
  • Browsing the Games for Windows – LIVE Marketplace on a PC
  • Browsing Games Marketplace from the Xbox 360 console or Xbox.com

Microsoft confirmed on Wednesday that it was aware of the problems. “We are aware of the problem and are working to resolve the issue. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience,” said a Microsoft spokesperson. The issue follows an outage with Microsoft’s Xbox LIVE services earlier this month. Windows Phone 7 users were unable to access Xbox LIVE services for a short period of time on May 6.

      Maybe the update messed with the Marketplace? I got my update last night.
