Microsoft launches Bing Deals, one convenient place for online deals

Microsoft revealed its new Bing Deals portal on Friday, a place to harness deals from several providers and retailers.

Bing Deals will pull in deals from Groupon, LivingSocial, Nordstrom, Target and many other partners and retailers. The key features of Bing Deals are as follows:

  • One-Stop Shop: The new Bing Deals experience aggregates more than 200,000 deals across the US, including local deals, helping you easily match multiple deals to ensure you’re getting the best one. There is no need to browse hundreds of websites or sign-up for multiple emails. You can find the best deals on the web at Bing.com/deals.
  • Browse for the Best Deals: Bing Deals cuts through the clutter by cleansing and organizing deals, so irrelevant deals are filtered out of your experience. You can browse by retailer, location, keywords or by category such as restaurants, spa services, arts & entertainment, and even nightlife to find exactly what you want quickly. If you’re not sure what you’re looking for, simply browse the top deals of the day to see if something sparks your interest!
  • Visual Search Results: Because shopping is a visual experience and so is searching on Bing, your deal search results are visually organized on the screen to help you easily sort through your options and find the best deal based on what you’re looking for.
  • Daily Deals: With one click, you’ll see the top daily deals featuring the very best offers in your metro area, with savings generally from 30%-50% off.
  • More Deals on the Go. If you’ve been enjoying Bing Mobile Deals at m.bing.com, you’ll benefit from the same deals available on the PC.

Microsoft claims that 61% of people have increased their use of deals in the last six months. Despite the increase, Microsoft says people are “overloaded” with deals that aren’t relevant to them. “People are telling us if they can end the unwelcome egg hunt, they would welcome the savings,” said Bing’s Lisa Gurry in a blog post on Friday. According to a recent Bing/Impulse survey, 87% of people said they would increase their use of daily deals if they could find only deals that interest them all in one place. “Instead of building another program, we’re harnessing deals from major providers and retailers,” says Gurry.

The new Bing Deals site is available at bing.com/deals.

Google will come up with Google STEALS in response to this. :P

Well done there.  That word fits perfectly because not only would they be stealing from Microsoft, but they would also be stealing from the data providers.  MS has shown its ability to work with partners like Twitter, Facebook, Groupon and others.

Google on the other hand follows a three step process: Take information and use it without consent. When the site complains, try to buy them out. When they refuse to be bought out, just copy them (Google+).

If you don’t believe me, just take a look at the latest Senate hearings on Google and the statements from sites like Yelp and others.

Oh please all companies steal user data.

      Word!

Google already does deals. Get your facts :)

This site does love to bash Google

Not like this. Get *your* facts.

This site != the comments on it. And nobody is forcing you to troll here. So if you don’t like the commentary, crawl back into your hole.

Yeah, that was his point. Google tried to buy Groupon, Groupon refused. So they created, Google Offers.

      Get over it.

If it aggregates data from Groupon, Living Social, and other sites, then this is a great idea.  Good job Bing!

On a side note, that looks like the lady from Parks and Recreations.

    Good idea, lamb implementation.
ONLY EIGHT DEALS a time? Three or five more deals per click?
Why there are cameras and laptops deals on top, but there isn’t any related category on the bottom?
When I try to search deals it jumps to bing shopping?

When I typed lamb I mean lame …….
