Gears of War
Microsoft has issued a statement regarding the recent leak of Gears of War 3.
A torrent copy of Gears of War 3 leaked to the Internet over the weekend. Posters at the Neogaf gaming forums confirmed that the game includes full single-player campaign and multiplayer options. The game can only be played on mod chipped versions of the Xbox 360. The leaked version includes a number of glitches and bugs and is believed to be a development copy.
Microsoft has responded to the leak by labelling it as a test build. “We have seen the reports of Gears of War 3 content being propped on the Web and working closely with our security teams and law enforcement to address the situation,” said a Microsoft spokesperson. “This content is not from a final build and is not representative of what fans will enjoy when the game launches worldwide on September 20, 2011.”
Microsoft recently reaveled that pre-orders of Gears of War 3 had reached 1 million copies. The software giant plans to release Gears of War 3 on September 20 as three editions. Microsoft is offering an exclusive figurine to those who pre-order the Gears of War 3 Epic Edition. Microsoft’s follow-up to the immensely popular Gears of War 1 and 2 titles is set around 18 months after the previous events of Gears of War 2. The shooter was originally scheduled to launch in April but was pushed back to September.
