Nokia Lumia 710 "coming soon"

Nokia’s Lumia 710 Windows Phone will be offered in the United States “soon”.

Nokia’s U.S. pages currently list the device as “coming soon”. The Finnish handset maker has also created a notification system for U.S. buyers to register their interest in Nokia’s Windows Phone. Nokia’s flagship Lumia 800 device is not listed on the pages, hinting that the company’s rumored “Ace” device could replace the Lumia 800 as the flagship offering for U.S. markets. Nokia’s “Ace” is expected to be named the Lumia 900 and will include the following:

Nokia “Ace”
  • 4.3″ amoled display
  • 1800mAh battery
  • 8-megapixel camera
  • HSPA connectivity
  • 1.4 gHz processor
  • 16GB internal storage
  • Tuxplorer

Before the “where is my Quad core 1 Terabyte WP device” crowd turns up, it should be noted that there is a HUGE market for affordable smartphones. Especially WP7 has a big chance to shine in this market because the OS runs so smoothly and beautifully even on under-powered hardware.

It’s time to pull out the big guns. Everyone here needs to follow @belfiore & @BRANDONWATSO:disqus N on twitter and start selecting there profile and tweet our request. I started yesterday and this morning tweeting the following: “We want Lumina 800 body w/4.3″ screen, 16-32GB storage, 1.4GHz or better processor, 8MP or better camera. See: winrumors & wpcentral.

Talking about it in this forum along isn’t going to get anyones attention but our own. We need to reach MS windows phone 7 management team or execs by any means posible so our voices can be heard. “The Time is now. we can’t sit back idle staying in our little group on tech sites unless the site creators are going to get our messages to MS for us.

The Ace sounds about right for the US market, I was worried when I heard the 810 wasn’t coming here but I like the Ace’s specs a little better as long as they keep that gorgeous design. Now if we could get it work on CDMA carriers I would be one happy customer but with the HSPA spec listed I don’t think its happening any time soon. =(

I doubt they will get much interest in this device especially form US consumers. This is a first generation Windows Phone hardware all over again!
