New Samsung Windows Phone

Samsung’s new Focus S Windows Phone device has been spotted in the wild.

The Focus S was originally unveiled at Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference earlier this year and looks to be the second generation of Samsung’s popular Focus handset. Pocket Now received an image (see below) of the device in action. Samsung’s next-generation focus includes a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, 1.4GHz processor, 4G network support and a 1.3MP front facing camera. The rear of the device is equipped with an 8MP camera.

AT&T is planning to make the device available “this fall” alongside a cheaper Focus Flash model. The Samsung Focus S will likely be a U.S. only model with a Omnia equivalent for European markets. AT&T revealed that the Focus S is only 8.55mm thick, meaning it’s thinner than Apple’s iPhone 4.

Was very happy with Focus…can’t wait to get this one since it’s a “4G”

Looks nice! WP really need great phones. I just went to a big store today, I asked if they had some windows phone, the guy told me no. They had one, but no success, so they don’t have anymore. To be honest, there is at least 200 different phones for sale there.
If there is no thin WP which look very nice, WP is not going to increase its sales soon… WP need a device of the quality of the samsung G S2 which looks very great.
I hope the Focus S will be one of these…

The Focus was the same as the Galaxy S, so I’m sure the Focus S will be same hardware(with minor changes) as the SII.

This is thinner at 8.55 mm vs the iPhone 4s 9.3 mm.
What the Samsung lacks in depth it gives at length. :P

I like big screens though. With the right DPI of coarse

This looks pretty nice. If they can’t get something like this on Verizon they will never leave the store. (The Phones). If you could see the systematic rejection of Windows phone by Verizon Store employees on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, it would blow your mind. Thank god I have T-Mobile and we better have the Titan.

AT&T will be getting the Titan 4G and T-mobile will have the Radar 4G. You’re out of luck

Going to be a difficult choice between this and the HTC TITAN. Hmm.

    • Typhos

I really dislike the Titans rear

    • CG

The Titan is just too massive though.. at least the screen, for being only 800 by 480 pixels. And I adore Super AMOLED (plus)!

Very difficult indeed! I’m wondering if HTC will release a similar phone from the Titan but with Beats Audio? That would help my decision making a little easier.

I have a Feeling the Titan will be HTC’s next HD2 and Evo.

I want it… but I’m still at least 7 months away from an upgrade! :-(

Those who are confused b/t HTC and Samsung, let me it easy for you.  I used HTC-HD (ATT) and the build quality was horrific:

. Plastic and flexible back cover
     . Screen ghosting
     . Horrible color contrast
. Buttons were hard to press
. Sound was horrible as it was really pitchy and couldn’t hear most of the time

In short, I was very disappointed. Samsung, as plasticky as it feels, i think it’s screen alone blows the competition out of the water. So make sure you checkout HTC in person before you buy it.

Which phone exactly was that? HTC HD7? or the HTC Trophy? The trophy is Atrocious for sure. That must be the one your talking about. Falls apart literally.

Please have a Sprint equivalent, I have an upgrade soon!

    I want the Nokia!

Grabbing it for my wife.  I hope Newegg will have it for free on Blackfriday like they did for my Focus :)

This phone needs a Nokia on its Face…and I’m ready to buy it, but Sammy is KO too…Way To Go M$…

    Dear Sammy ol’ boy!
    1. Make sure there is an international version available for this.
    2. Please don’t use the DSP That you stuffed into the poor SGS II. that sucks. I’ll take a Nokia X6, rather thank you.
    3. 32/64GB at least mates. NAND flash storage.
    4. Remove the freaking branding of yours from the front!

USB port on the bottom?! Does this mean Samsung will actually have a decent dock for once?

Great….But…I just got a $827.89 iPad2 for only $103.37 and my mom got a $1499.99 HTV for only $251.92, they are both coming tomorrow. I would be an idiot to ever pay full retail prîces at places like Walmart or Bestbuy. I sold a 37″ HTV to my boss for $600 that I only paid $78.24 for. I use
