Some Hotmail users are complaining that their e-mails have been deleted.
Microsoft has confirmed they are investigating the issue. Over 470 people have complained on Microsoft’s official Windows Live forums. Most users state that their emails have been moved into the deleted items folders.
Microsoft spokesperson, Catherine Brooker issued the following statement:
“At this point it appears to be a limited issue, and Microsoft is working with individual users who are impacted. We apologize for any inconvenience to our customers”
Posts on Microsoft’s Windows Live support forums from official support personnel indicate that Microsoft is treating the issue with immediate priority. One post from a Microsoft worker states:
“I sincerely apologize for what happened to your accounts and to your messages. This issue is now under investigation. We understand the sensitivity of the information that was lost, that’s why this has been tagged with high priority.”
Some Hotmail users are understandably frustrated by the issues. A Facebook group, containing 63 members, has been setup to share stories of lost emails. Microsoft has not yet confirmed why these accounts have been affected.
