Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is a Twitter user but not a very active one.
Microsoft watcher Manan Kakkar discovered Ballmer’s secret account after searching for a Tweet from a transcript of a talk that Ballmer held at the Kiev Polytechnic Institute in Ukraine earlier this month. Kakkar discovered Ballmer’s “private” Twitter account and it’s clear the Microsoft chief rarely uses it.
Ballmer follows four individuals, one of whom is Walt Mossberg – a well known journalist at The New York Times. Ballmer has authored four tweets mainly describing his travels to Russia and Ukraine. “I love KPI (Kiev Polytechnic Institute)” reads one and another simply says “Great day in Kiev. Exciting things going on in technology In the Ukraine.”
Ballmer has been touring Europe promoting Windows Phone 7 and the company’s cloud services. The passionate and outgoing CEO is known to have several Windows Phone 7 devices that he uses regularly.
