Windows Phone Marketplace down, apps unavailable for download

Windows Phone Marketplace error

Microsoft’s Windows Phone Marketplace is down worldwide, according to reports.

WinRumors are currently reporting that they are unable to download new applications or update existing applications. Windows Phone 7 owners attempting to download new applications receive the error message “Can’t get this info right now. Check back in a little while.” WMPoweruser reports that the Marketplace has been inaccessible for the past four hours.

WinRumors has reached out to Microsoft for comment and will update the article accordingly.

Update: It appears from several reports that this is only affecting users with NoDo (build 7390) and onwards. Devices without NoDo are still able to connect and download applications.

Update 2: Microsoft has supplied the following statement: “We have received reports that customers are having problems accessing Windows Phone Marketplace. We are investigating these reports and will provide an update when we have more to share.”

LG E900 from Orange-FR flashed with Open-EU ROM and currently running on “Oi” network in Brazil. I’ve updated to 7392 about 20 hours ago, successfully downloaded 3 Apps and since 4 to 5 hours ago I started to receive the error message when I tried to update the Weather Channel App and to download others Apps after.

I don’t think this issue is related to 7392, because as said before, I successfully downloaded 3 Apps with this update, and one hour ago I did a restore to 7390 on Zune and got the same error.

Down for me with NoDo-update in Norway, Samsung Omnia 7 unlocked.

Samsung Focus, AT&T, Washington DC area. On 7390 and can’t access the Marketplace. I tired to download Amazon Kindle and it failed. So it appears to be any app.

Lg E900 in italy with Vodafone. I updated to NoDo with the “remove the net cable after 10 seconds” hack and updated earlier this morning with the security update. I can’t tell if there is a relation but I tried to download an app only after the Update and the Marketplace has been down since that, even though I managed to update two apps (FIM prior to the Security Update and Supertube afterwards)

It seems like the server that does the licensing and so on is having problems since you can get into the marketplace and browse it but not actually download anything.

Well I have an update, it’s working for me now, it wasn’t all day, but as of 7:30pm GMT+2 here in Greece on my LG Optimus 7 it finally let me download the updates to some apps it said I had.

It’s fine here in Slovenia, Mobitel, Samsung Omnia 7, 7390. I installed a new game that wasn’t installed on my phone yet. It was a free one – Guns. I already uninstalled it.
